Understanding Criminal Record Checks in Canada

Do I need electronic or ink fingerprints?

For a Canadian RCMP criminal record check, you usually need electronic fingerprints. For fingerprints sent to another country or to the FBI, you usually need ink fingerprints on a C216C, FD-258, or FD-1164 card. Not sure? Bring your request letter and we’ll help you confirm.

Do I need an appointment for fingerprinting?

Walk-ins may be accommodated if time allows — please call ahead.

How long does it take to complete fingerprinting?

Most fingerprinting sessions take about 10-15 minutes, and results are usually processed by the RCMP within 3 business days or less for applicants with no criminal record match, plus Canada Post delivery time.

What forms of ID do I need to bring?

Please bring two pieces of valid government-issued identification, with at least one containing a photo, such as a driver’s license or passport.

What is your refund and re-take policy?

Service fees are non-refundable once the service is completed. If a re-take is required due to fingerprint quality, one free re-take will be provided

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The office is located on the 3rd floor of the green building southwest of Yonge St. and Sheppard Ave. (the building with Food Basics, Tim Hortons, LCBO). You have to take the elevator to the 3rd floor.
