Q: What is a criminal background check?

A: The criminal background check is a process of reviewing an individual’s criminal record to determine if they have any criminal history.There are two ways to check if you have a criminal history:

  • Name and DOB based:
    • Criminal Record Chck (Level I)
    • Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (Level II) 
    • Vulnerable Sector Check (Level II)
  • Fingerprints Based:
    • Certified Criminal Record Checks by RCMP 
    • For a variety of purposes including employment, immigration, international travel /work, adoption, name change, or a record suspension. 

 Q: Which type of Criminal Record Check do I need?

A: Normally, You need a Fingerprint-based Certified background check for Immigration, International Travel/Work, Adoption, Name Change, Federal Government Employment, Professional Licence, or record suspension purposes. 

You need a Name-based Criminal record check for employment (Private company), Business Licence or personal use. You need to communicate with your employer or organization which type of check you need.

Q: How to find a Fingerprinting Agency in Toronto? 
 
A: You can click the list of Private Fingerprinting Companies Accredited by RCMP and find one fingerprinting company close to your location. 

 

Q: What do I need to bring with me for fingerprints? 

A: Please bring two pieces of acceptable identification (one must be a government-issued photo ID).

Q: Do I need an appointment? 

A: We highly recommend booking an appointment online or by phone call; however, we do accept walk-ins. 

Q: How long could I get the criminal record check report?

A: For a name-based criminal record check, you can get a digital police report within one hour. 

For a fingerprint-based criminal record check, the RCMP will mail the certified police report to the mailing address. 

If there is no match to a criminal record, the RCMP’s processing time is 3 business days; If there is a possible match to a criminal record, the RCMP’s processing time is up to 120 days. There is extra time should be allowed for delivery by Canada Post. 

Q: What’s the cost of the Criminal Record Check? 

  • Level I and II: CRC/CRJMC is $50 plus HST 
  • Level 4: Fingerprint-based: is $53.10 plus HST; 
  • RCMP fee $25 is applicable for some reasons 
Q: How can I pay the fee?

A: we accept Debit Card, Credit Card, EMT, and Cash; However, there is a 3% extra fee for Credit Card payment 

Q: Could I get the status of the police report?

Q: Do you provide fingerprint services to other countries?  

A: Yes, we provide professional ink-rolled fingerprinting C-216 cards within 15 minutes for other countries’ police certificate purposes. Such as Hongkong, Iran, Jamaica, Mexico, Egypt, Singaport, Southafrica, Trinidad and Tobago, and USA (FD 258) etc. 

Q: Do you accept other countries Fingerprinting cards? 

A: Yes, we can convert other countries’ fingerprinting cards to digital fingerprints and submit them to the RCMP for a certified criminal record check. You can reach us via [email protected] to get the international fingerprinting service guide.
